• Touted as the next-generation business phone, the Touch Pro comes loaded with the Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional operating system, 7.2-megabit-per-second High Speed Downlink Packet Access network support, Wi-Fi connectivity, and TouchFlo 3-D interface to keep you close to your business contacts, files and the Internet. Its slide-out Qwerty keyboard allows you to create multiple types of documents with the pre-loaded Office applications.
With built-in GPS, getting to appointments and meetings outside your office will not be a problem, even if you have not been to the places before. Doing presentations also is a breeze because the Touch Pro comes with TV-out functionality; to enable this, you will need an HTC TV-out cable.
The Touch Pro also comes with a 3.2-megapixel auto-focus camera to capture still shots and videos as w
ell as a microSD slot to expand your storage capacity. It retails at RM3,099.
Maxis BlackBerry Bold
• Road warriors and business users can accomplish a lot on the go with the BlackBerry Bold. This 3.5G-capable device is equipped with multimedia and organiser features, Wi-Fi connectivity and GPS support with BlackBerry Maps.
Data such as contacts, calendar entries, tasks and memos that you have keyed into the device and the e-mail application on your computer can be synchronised using the wireless data synchronisation feature over the network.
The device’s most valuable feature is its extensive e-mail support, which includes push e-mail. Other features include a Qwerty keyboard with trackball, two-megapixel camera, and media player supporting DivX, H.263. H.264, WMV, .3gp, MP3, WMA, MIDI, AMR-NB and AAC files.
First introduced locally by Maxis, the BlackBerry Bold retails at RM2,199, or RM1,899 if purchased with Maxis’ Value Plus 150 24-month contract.
Nokia E90 Communicator and E71
• The E90 Communicator is packed with features that business users will appreciate. From fast 3G mobile broadband connection to multiple Quickoffice and Nokia Office tools, the device helps you to stay productive while on the go.
It has two keypads, two displays (the inner panel offers 800 by 352 pixels, the outer panel 240 by 320 pixels), two cameras (a 3.2-megapixel and a QCIF camera for video call), an integrated GPS and multimedia support. Its internal memory of 128 megabytes is expandable through the built-in microSD card slot while connectivity options include WLAN, USB 2.0, Bluetooth and infra-red.
To keep users organised, the E90 offers extensive PIM features such as Nokia Team Suite. It goes for RM3,188.
As for the E71, it offers similar tech aids to business users in and out of the office through its extensive e-mail support, PIM features, WLAN, GPS features, Internet browser and security features. It also comes features a 3.2-megapixel camera (2,048 by 1,536 pixels), 110MB internal memory, Bluetooth support, multimedia players and a microSD slot. It retails at RM1,799.
